Classical guitarist, composer, educator
About
Dr. Bill White enjoys a multi-faceted career as guitarist, composer, and educator. As a performer, he presents newer works by contemporary composers in exciting programs for guitar as both solo and chamber instrument. Recent performances have seen premieres of works for classical guitar and electronics and electric guitar by composers such as Gabriel Bolaños, Cameron McArthur, and his own works. Bill is also an avid chamber musician, performing often with his wife, Elizabeth, as the guitar and viola duo Duo Violão.

As an educator, Dr. White has taught at Phoenix College and Arizona State University, teaching individual guitar lessons, group guitar classes, and electronic music composition.
​
Bill holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from Arizona State University where he studied with Jiji Kim. He also holds degrees from California State University: East Bay and the University of Idaho, and other teachers include Marc Teicholz, James Reid, Lily Afshar, and Nick Ciraldo.
